Inauguration

Do you know what tomorrow is? With all the hoopla over the coronation/inauguration the most important person has been ignored. He is the one whose actions made the day possible. Without him no one would have even heard of Barak Obama.

I guess a non-violent crusade that made it possible for a large percentage of the population to enjoy the same rights as others is easily forgotten. I have not noticed any mention of him this weekend. There have been all sorts of "fluff pieces" on the inauguration, the type of dog, the parties, the fashions, the train ride copying Lincoln's arrival in Washington, but no mention of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I hope that in his inaugural address Mr. Obama expresses his gratitude for the work of Dr. King because without him there would be no President Obama.

I too was surprised at all the hoopla these past days & no mention of Dr. King. I wish he were alive to see Obama be sworn in, but I'm sure he knows...
