Last week I decided it was time to get back into shape. I decided I would start exercising, so on Monday I actually walked to the clubhouse and went to the gym.
I was armed with my new I-Pod and lots of good music to keep me interested and moving. I was met at the door by one of my friends. I should have know she'd be there, she exercises for at least an hour a day, sometimes more. We talked, or I should say, she talked. I never got a chance to listen to my music.
On Wednesday, I tried another time and luckily, she wasn't there. But on Friday I thought I'd go before canasta. Since it was around dinnertime, I thought I'd be alone. No such luck. She talked and talked. The only good thing about it was I did walk for an hour. It's hard to ignore her, she is an interesting person, even if we do disagree politically.
I hope I have better luck next week and am able to exercise alone. I've given up on going early in the morning because, once I leave the house, I can't do any work when I get back. My theory has always been, if it doesn't get done before I go out, it won't get done.
We have a meeting in the clubhouse around 7:00 pm tomorrow. Maybe I'll go over there around 6:00 pm. Maybe she'll be home getting ready for the meeting.
I did manage to walk a total of 7 miles for the week. Not bad for only three days' walking.

This is exactly why I powerwalk alone, lol. I like my music!
In spite of her, you did great with 7 miles this week. I swear I'm going to the walking trail tomorrow. Really I am.
